Adv. K. Somaprasad, He was born in the year 1957 at Sastamcotta in Kunnathur Taluk of Kollam District. Father K C Karamban, Mother Velumbi. Educated at Higher Secondary School, Sasthamcotta, JMHS Bharnikavu, Devaswom Board College, Kollam Sree Narayana College and Kerala Law Academy. He was employed as a lawyer in various courts in Kollam. He was a member of the SFI Central Committee.Served as Kerala University Syndicate Member, Kollam District Panchayat Member, Kollam District Panchayat President. He was the Private Secretary to the Minister of Local Self-Government during 1987-91. Also served as CITU State Council Member, Kerala Legal Services Authority Member, Kerala Water Authority Member, Karshaka Sangham State Committee Member. Former member of Rajya Sabha. At present, CPI(M) State Committee Member, PKS State Secretary and DSMM All India Committee Member.
